It’s the final countdown!

She Can Tri takes Zahra and Zeinab, Afghanistan’s first women triathletes, to the UAE for one last training camp before they race internationally next month.

January 11, 2020

It was an extremely busy week for She Can Tri and our supporters. We were beyond touched by the amazing triathlon community in the gulf that came together in support of these trailblazing women.

It was all an effort to get Zahra and Zeinab prepared for IRONMAN 70.3 Dubai next month.

Here are some highlights:

Women For Tri ambassador Melina Timson-Katchis gives the Afghan athletes some tips in the water.

Yas Cycles took the Afghan women out for a ride and coached them on basic nutrition and maintenance.

When a wind storm struck, Airwerks Cycles and Zwift came to the rescue allowing the women to continue their training indoors.

She Can Tri volunteer and fundraising athlete Leen Almasood spearheaded the training camp. Showing that when women come together across borders anything is possible. Together our community is #racingforequality and creating peace through sports.

Thank you to everyone who made this week possible.
